The Lakers didn’t let Jerry West go; Mr. Clutch made the decision to leave on his own. See, the owner had originally promised to give West a 5% ownership in the team, but changed his mind and gave that share instead to Magic Johnson. Feeling betrayed, West left.

The reason the ownership stake was given to Magic instead stems from Buss’s sense of guilt over getting Johnson into the sexual excesses which probably caused his HIV contraction. The Buss family isn’t squeaky-clean, and the dirtiest part of it is how they currently regard Jerry West as the bad guy in all this: Jeannie continues to cover for her father, as if HE were the offended party.

Jerry West did a great job running the team. They let him go and he did a great job with the Warriors. Now he is doing a great job with the Clippers. How can you let a great basketball person like Jerry West work for your competitor? The Lakers are a mess.

#2 The Dodgers should just stop the BS. Clayton has serious arm , elbow or shoulder problems if he’s not going to be ready for opening day in 3 weeks. People recover from open heart surgery faster than that. Maybe now they’ll stop putting all their eggs in one Kershaw basket. Go get some pitching and quit f ing around!

Old man Buss is rolling in his grave over the way his franchise is being handled these days, but the truth is that the salary cap has put the nail in the coffin of how he used to run things. These days, you simply MUST be able to judge young, inexpensive talent and be patient while it is being assembled into a viable unit. Magic & Rob are the wrong guys for that task.
