Duh why do u think he got rid of Mooney…he was tired of being outshined, outcoached, etc. He hired his guys from Pico that think it’s still the Dons and can win with one play in their whole pocket book! It’s annoying!

Gold, since you’re asking what happened to SEM, need I remind you the headcoach fired the only coach who knew what he was doing. SEM has never recovered since that firing. The identity you speak of is long gone. Even though I hear this Eagles team is loaded with talent they can’t manage to score more than once a game (Nogales excluded) plus the coaches fight each other at practices lmfao. If SEM loses to La Canada it’ll be an all time low. Pressure is on Eagles y’all better not blow it.

Eagles Dad, lost your will? If the coaches have let this happen this early in the year it’s gonna be a long season. Such a shame from a proud program.

I hear you about #4 and #43 but that the state of football right now and its not getting better. Players are forced to play the whole game. Kids don’t want to come out and put in the time and the players that have the talent and are coming up from the youth program often drink the kool aid from other programs and don’t attend Bell Gardens high school. Players at BG are hard workers and they have to be because the same player is running the ball on offense making the tackles on defense or returning the ball on kick-offs. Im sure the coaches would love to have a couple of other guys jump right in and give #4 and #43 a breather but they do not because those players are at other schools.

Don’t get me wrong. I have the utmost respect for Arroyo and their staff. Truly one of the classiest programs of the valley. Actually few of those coaches are true friends of mine. I am just excited to see our lil ole Rio Hondo Prep guys take on one of the elite programs of the SGV. I think it should be an exciting game. Those schools are literally a stones throw from each other. Good luck to both teams. GO KARES

    Hey Tim,
Last time I asked about the CO score you said it was posted. It wasn’t, now I am looking for it again. They lost but it’d be nice to see you guys at least post the score. Not sure if this on purpose or what. I made a copy of the scores No CO v Damien so you know it’s not on their. Thanks! My 2 cents LA or DR will win the Hacienda league.

Santa Fe is terrible, Whittier had a terrible loss to Arcadia, cal is off to a good start but probably has one of the easiest pre season Schedules in the history of the DRL, ER had NV and Garfield which are solid, LS pre season opponents haven’t looked that great either but they are routing everyone. LS is still king until someone knocks them off, who knows whether they will get the best shot in week 7 or week 10.

Look at RHP calling out Arroyo! It seems as though Arroyo has their worst team in years? Am I right or wrong? RHP is always solid but I didn’t think they would have a chance. Very interesting game.

I guess Montebello could schedule SEM and Rosemead if that makes you feel better. I actually agree with taking on better programs and Winning league. At this point that’s what a Div 11 team like Montebello has to look forward to. Why Div 11 I have no idea, but coach has done his job at preparing for those type of teams by scheduling MONSTERS. You can only coach up the players you have.

That’s funny the del rio league is horrible. ER is no threat, They were destroyed by LS last year. Any hope went out the window when last years seniors graduated. They lost to Eisenhower in playoffs and LS manhandled them this year. ER is not even at that level. Cal will take out ER and the tiny QB. I see ER only beating Santa Fe. Whittier will wake up and run up and down the field with them. Now they have a QB.

Hey don’t cheat our QB…he’s 5’5″! A different team from last year but Coach Medrano utilizes the skill set of his players and creates a great game plan to make it work. Have a great week in preparation Dons

The Del Rio league is making strides to be relevant even though even the Whittier Daily News often chooses to ignore the league. Thank goodness for MVS. With La Serna doing the heavy lifting and El Rancho lending a big hand 4 of the 5 teams have + ratings on Cal Preps. Not easy to do. If Santa Fe gets rolling as expected it will be 5 for 5 by league play. I’am guessing La Serna, the class of the league will be tested by every team in the Del Rio. If I were betting I would wager La Serna gets beat once by a Del Rio team. The ER-Northview score as well as how badly ER played in that game and still came close to winning is raising eyebrows, considering NV is whomping on everyone else. Whittier and Santa Fe are dangerous with speed at the point of attack and Cal? Cal is 4-0.

Rosemead loses a heartbreaker vs Schurr leading the entire game until the final 2:35 seconds of the fourth quarter. Disappointing Rosemead couldn’t finish that game but at least they’re back to being competitive.

    Mountain View… whew another loss

Gabby wins again gaining some momentum

EM looked good vs a very good OV team. Very impressive victory. Probably looking at 10-0 season because the MVL is down this year they won’t be challenged again until the semis unless Arroyo gets better.

Was at Pasadena Poly to witness SEM play for a 3pm start time! Gotta ask what happened to SEM? They suffered their third blowout loss of the season. They use to have an identity. A Hard nosed running team that would hit you in the mouth. This team is soft. They won’t tackle won’t gain the extra yard they’re wing t sometimes spread sometimes. ehhh I don’t like it. One fan told me they’re missing their best player so maybe they deserve some slack. QB looks good but he’s young. SEM was bigger than poly I would’ve thought the Eagles would maul poly like a vintage SEM team would normally do. but it was the opposite. Poly dominated upfront. I can’t see the Eagles coming close to EM or Arroyo maybe Rosemead beats them as well which would be a disaster.

I’m guessing all this Montebello talk about having a vaunted secondary and a step up game for LS is just gross sarcasm. I mean El Rancho’s 5 ft. QB torched Montebello for 350 passing yards on Friday. This games over before it starts.

@Heaps of Praise: Do you really think Montebello is a “step up game”? I agree with the praise for this La Serna football team but by no means is this game gonna be any different than the last four. I wasn’t able to make the game on Friday but from some folks I know that are in the know, the new and improved LS passing game was exploited on Friday night. But!!!!! But the run game was stellar.

It’s not La Serna’s fault that these programs didn’t continue to build of their success from last year. Contracts are typically for two years. Should they schedule D1 schools just to get their DELETED kicked in a non-competitive matchup?

Thats the problem. #4 and #43 have to play in every down, both defense and offense.
BG needs to find other players to play defense.
Those two kids are awesome, but its going to take it’s toll on them before league play even starts.

Looking forward to the season opener against Montebello. MHS is good, but I think it
    BG’s turn this year.

Went to the Bell Gardens vs. Glenn game, #4 and #43 for Bell Gardens don’t leave the field. They remind me of old school two way football! #4 had to have rushed for over 300 yards, the Almont League should be interesting this year.

As coach George fortifies his group for this challenge, he needs to emphasize that these step-up games are needed to prepare the team for a deep playoff run.

The game Colony @ La Serna was a lot closer then the score 32-19 LS.

Colony is a tough football team and their record 0-4 should not be overlooked.
    L 29-28 Carter, L 14-13 Charter Oak, L 42-0 Citrus Valley (CV’s record 4-0, their no joke)

To the Bonita and Glendora faithful you better be ready for a battle.
