1. Azusa Pacific lost to Missouri S&T 51-17 Saturday night to fall to 0-2 on the season. The Cougars first home game is this Saturday night against Western Oregon at Citrus College.

2. USC Freshman quarterback Kedon Slovis threw three interceptions including one in overtime as the Trojans fell to BYU 30-27 in Provo, Utah.

3. UCLA fell to 0-3 on the season after being routed 48-14 by Oklahoma at the Rose Bowl Saturday.

4. The Rams beat the New Orleans Saints 27-9 at the Coliseum Sunday to improve to 2-0.

5. The Chargers dropped to 1-1 after a 13-10 loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

6. Angels outfielder Mike Trout will have foot surgery and will be out for the remainder of the season.

7. Receiver Daylen Wilson had six receptions for 154 yards and two touchdowns to spark Monrovia to a 27-24 win over South Hills Saturday night.

8. Pasadena City College beat Glendale 35-7 Saturday night. Kade Wentz from San Marino started at quarterback for PCC and San Marino’s Wheeler Smith started at wide receiver.

9. “Amat is officially on the clock.” – Cathedral assistant coach Robert Maxie via Twitter on this Friday night’s matchup with Bishop Amat at Cathedral.

10. Former Dodger pitcher/current announcer Orel Hershiser turns 61 today.

    Citrus is doing good things also. 2-0 with MVL studs leading the way. Camacho at QB and Sal Tovar at RB.

    Cathedral will be ready. The Phantoms are young but have alot of Big Time skill players. If Cathedral Stops Amat’s running game they will win. This is Cathedrals year to beat a so so Amat team.

    Why does Temple City only got 8 games? I’m sure they could of found two more games.

    Didn’t Amat work Cathedral last year?
    From T. Peterson: Yes 42-21 Amat last year. Game Night will be posted Tuesday night.

    That new stadium in Inglewood is being built on the drawing power of the Rams, with the Chargers along merely to help pay some bills. With those two teams planning to share an arena, perhaps Chip Kelly and Clay Helton can share a car on their ride out of town after their seasons have mercifully ended.
