1. USC AD Mike Bohn announced that Clay Helton will return as head coach next year.

2. The Chicago Bears (7-6) beat the Dallas Cowboys (6-7) 31-24 on Thursday Night Football.

3. The Lakers are 19-3 after a 121-96 win over the Utah Jazz Wednesday night.

4. The Philadelphia Phillies signed pitcher Zack Wheeler to a five-year, $118 million deal. Last year Wheeler was 11-8 with a 3.96 ERA with 195 strikeouts for the New York Mets.

5. Washington State extended head coach Mike Leach through the 2024 season.

6. AP College Basketball Top 5: 1. Louisville 2. Kansas 3. Maryland 4. Michigan 5. Virginia.

7. The Azusa Pacific basketball team has started the season 5-3 under first year head coach Peter Bond.

8. Seattle Seahawks at Rams, Sunday night, 5:20 p.m. NBC

9. The Angels have reached an agreement with the city of Anaheim that keeps the team in town through 2050. The Angels and Arte Moreno will buy the stadium and the parking lots for %325 million.

10. Pasadena beat Palisades 63-54 Tuesday night to start the 2019-’20 basketball season.

    So the Trojans paid big bucks to bring-in Bohn, only to tell us that Helton will be around to stink-up football next year. What a bold way to get wealthy donors to loosen their wallets.
