1. Clemson will face LSU Monday January 13th in New Orleans for the National Championship.

2. In LSU’s 63-28 win over Oklahoma Saturday in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl Joe Burrow threw for 493 yards and threw seven touchdown passes and also ran for one.

3. Iowa beat USC 49-24 Friday night in the Holiday Bowl in San Diego.

4. USC announced that DC Clancy Pendergast and special teams coach John Baxter will not return to the coaching staff.

5. The Rams beat the Arizona Cardinals 31-24 in their final game at the Coliseum and finished the season at 9-7.

6. The Cleveland Browns fired first-year HC Freddy Kitchens after a 6-10 season.

7. NFL Playoffs are set: AFC: Tennessee at New England, Buffalo at Houston; Byes – Baltimore, Kansas City. NFC: Minnesota at New Orleans, Seattle at Philadelphia; Byes- San Francisco, Green Bay.

8. Denver Broncos running back Phillip Lindsay is the only undrafted player in NFL history to rush for over 1,000 yards in his first two years.

9. UCLA lost to Cal State Fullerton 77-74 Saturday to fall to 7-6 on the season.

10. Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston became the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for at least 30 touchdowns and 30 interceptions in a season.

    with over 50plus people that put in
    if you Havent heard back by now
    you Dont get to interview maybe this is when we turn it around

    Suffering? Come on…

    Losing a few high school football games isn’t great, but let’s not pretend anyone cares by the time they graduate.

    Besides, if Pioneer had had a big name coach in years past, and they were winning a lot of games, it would have been because of that coach’s recruiting efforts. Instead of “suffering” on the field, those kids who lost while playing for the Titans would have won while standing on the sidelines.

    @ Riser: When we hear the big name that’s coming, we’d also like to hear why the administration was OK with losing for all those years. Sincerely, the players who had to suffer through those losses.

    Hey Rise if the Titan you act as if you know who the coach is, drop a name. With no teaching job, a declining enrollment and there being no possibility of getting your coaches on campus what big name is coming? Other theN the facilities what does Pioneer have to offer a big name?

    From T. Peterson: A lot of names being mentioned and I know some of the candidates that have been interviewed but none of them have been filled yet. Expect a lot of action after the Christmas break.

    For as long as I can remember, USC was a football power and UCLA was a basketball power. Now, they are both a joke. Cronin Makes Alford look like John Wooden, while Helton makes ANYONE look better.
