  1. The New York Giants fired head coach Brian Daboll Monday after a 2-8 start.
  2. The Dallas Mavericks fired General Manager Nico Harrison Tuesday after a 3-8 start. Harrison has been under fire since trading Luca Doncic to the Lakers last February for Anthony Davis, Max Christie and a 2029 first-round pick.
  3. Jacksonville Jaguars rookie receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter had surgery on his right knee Tuesday and is out for the year.
  4. Former NBA All-Star guard Michael Ray Richardson, who was banned from the league for drug use, passed away Tuesday at the age of 70.
  5. The Philadelphia Eagles beat the Green Bay Packers 10-7 on Monday Night Football.
  6. The Pittsburgh Steelers are signing free agent cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. to the practice squad.
  7. South Pasadena’s Trey Freking surpassed 3,000 career rushing yards last Friday night with an 80-yard touchdown run in the Tigers 42-17 CIF Division 11 playoff win over San Marcos.
  8. College Football Playoff Rankings – Top 5: 1. Ohio State 2. Indiana 3. Texas A&M 4. Alabama 5. Georgia. USC is 17th.
  9. Rowland and Los Altos, both 10-0 in the regular season, were both knocked out in the first round of the playoffs. Rio Hondo Prep, now 11-0, beat Thousand Oaks 50-34 in the first round of the Division 5 playoffs.
  10. Steven Vogt of the Cleveland Guardians won his second straight AL Manager of the Year Award, while Pat Murphy of the Milwaukee Brewers, also repeated for the NL honor.
