Mt. View Names Rodriguez Head Coach

By Tim Peterson
(El Monte) – Mt. View has named Paul Rodriguez as its new head football coach sources confirmed Wednesday.

Rodriguez, who was hired in March, was formerly the defensive coordinator under former Viking head coach Victor Romero who resigned after the 2017 season. Rodriguez takes over for Aaron Sepulveda who was dismissed in January after two years. Mt. View was 0-10 last season.

With schools currently shut down until June due to the coronavirus crisis it has still yet to be determined when practices will get underway.

Come on Spathias is a solid coach but don’t make it seem like he’s gods gift to football.

Mt View doesn’t deserve coach Spathias. He can do great things at other schools. Mt View is not serious about football, I know I work here.

I thought they were going after a splashy hire. There’s plenty of candidates that could’ve made more splash. Hell, I think Spathias is still available.
