2. Former Minnesota Vikings/Seattle Seahawks quarterback Tavaris Jackson, 36, was killed in a car accident Sunday night in Alabama.

3. New York Yankees co-owner Hank Steinbrenner died Tuesday at the age of 63 after a lengthy illness.

4. Former Kansas City Royals/Chicago Cubs manager Jim Frey passed away Sunday at the age of 88.

5. The Chicago Bulls fired GM Gar Forman Monday after 10 years in that role and 22 with the organization.

6. Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott refuted reports of a large party at his house last Friday night saying it was only a home dinner with fewer than 10 people.

7. Former Lakers guard Michael Cooper turns 64 today.

8. On this day in 1947 Jackie Robinson became the first African American player in Major League Baseball when he took the field for the Brooklyn Dodgers.

9. LA Chargers tight end Hunter Henry signed a one-year, $10.6 million deal on a franchise tender making him the highest paid tight end in the NFL.

    CIF and school leaders should man up and put high school athletes out of their misery. “All high school sports are gone until we have a proven vaccine.”
