  1. The Seattle Seahawks beat the Arizona Cardinals 28-21 on Thursday Night Football. 
  2. Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson suffered a tear to his right Achilles tendon and is out for the year. 
  3. Georgia guard Anthony Edwards was the number one overall pick in the NBA draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves Wednesday night. Former Chino Hills star LaMelo Ball was taken third overall by the Charlotte Hornets and Oneyka Okungwu, also of Chino Hills and USC, was the sixth pick in the first round by the Atlanta Hawks.
  4. Gordon Hayward opted out of his $34. 2 million contract with the Boston Celtics and will become an unrestricted free agent. 
  5. The New York Mets’ Robinson Cano tested positive for the performance enhancing substance stanozolol and was suspended for the entire 2021 season. 
  6. Dodgers President of Baseball Operations Andrew Friedman was named MLB Executive of the Year. 
  7. Sierra Vista offensive lineman Anthony Rosas will be signing his letter on intent to UNLV on December 16th at Sierra Vista High School. 
  8. The Maryland-Michigan State game scheduled for Saturday was canceled because of COVID-19 concerns with Maryland. Terrapins head coach Mike Locksley tested positive for the virus.  
  9. Rams at Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Monday Night Football, 5:15 p.m. ESPN.
  10. On this date in 1962 New York Yankee outfielder Mickey Mantle was named the AL MVP for the third time.
