It will be “FanView-Scottsdale” as I am in Arizona this week for Cactus League baseball.

While I’m a flexible sort… when my routine is disrupted, I can fall to pieces. The workouts stop, the stationary bike is back at the office, and people don’t understand the moments when you’re working…or even why you need to keep working when on an apparent vacation.

Getting up this morning…routine busted…I put on Dan Patrick…and I came away with this thought: “What happened to Dan Patrick?”

He’s less ridiculous than Barstool Sports, and he will eventually meander back into the realm of sports…but there’s no urgency.

I understand, because of the career he’s had, he can do the slow build and have fun. …But I don’t have the patience for it.

Final Add on Monday Morning Meandering: What made me fall in love with sportswriting was the subtle humor found in the written word…And, yes, the world has changed, but I still don’t see the need for the sportswriter/reporter/broadcaster to play the clown.

Okay, over-done-with-gone!… Let’s talk about Makai Lemon…Or… let’s not talk about Makai Lemon and his performance at the podium.

Now, I’ve literally been told on other sites that as a light-skinned person, I have no room to discuss black players or the Rooney Rule.

Yes, we live in an age where the cuckoos have left the nest, but telling reporters that any questioning of Lemon’s performance at the podium is racist–is ridiculous. (I can make an argument that it’s Marxist as well…but I digress.)

Things only got worse for Lemon when you saw the interviews of the other athletes at the Combine.

Anyone see Jeremiyah Love? Better still, how KC Concepcion handled himself—and the dude has a speech impediment.

I’d actually be good with Carnell Tate and his Legos.

Honestly, the way this draft looks and the Rams having two picks…and as long as they don’t draft a quarterback or tackle in the first round… I’ll be happy with anybody.

Next Add Combine: What world are we living in when an off-ball linebacker, Ohio State’s Sonny Styles, runs a 4.4/40? Or when his brother, Lorenzo, a safety, runs a 4.2/40…that is insane.

Saw Michigan go into Champagne on Friday night and destroy Illinois. The Illini are good, but the Wolverines are a bunch of physical bad dudes.

Can someone tell me how Aday Mara got out of Westwood and found his way to Ann Arbor? Was there no Sam Gilbert-type around to keep him local?

Last Add College Basketball: Seeing that USC’s leading scorer, Chad Baker-Mazara, has been dismissed from the team. Baker-Mazara is 26 with more stops on his resume than NFL backup Josh Johnson.

His dismissal gave me flashbacks to the glory days of Stan Morrison. In the Morrison era of Trojan basketball, Purvis Miller, Ken Johnson, and Gerry “Sir Jamalot” Wright all left or were dismissed before the end of their final season.

Catching Denver-OKC…and, dang, the Thunder’s Lou Dort could become a better fight promoter than Don King.

Is there a world where Megan Rapinoe doesn’t exist? I could sit through an AmWay seminar for days, with a big smile on my face, and people would say, “How can you take it?”

And I’d say, “Because I’ve been exposed to Megan Rapinoe—I can take anything!”

And you know what they’d say? “The live-action Gollum? I know exactly who you’re talking about. Whoa…”

Rumors are new Cardinals HC Mike LaFleur wants to bring Jimmy Garoppolo to the Cardinals. I get Jimmy G. wanting to play again…but the Cards already have Jacoby Brissett to bridge them to 2027. So why spend the money?

I’m not going to be angry if the Rams draft a cornerback at #13… I’m only going to be angry if they draft a corner at #13 and that’s not ready to play Week One.

Last Add Football: Lions trade RB David Montgomery to the Houston Texans for a fifth-rounder.

Montgomery wanted to move, and for the Lions, Montgomery absorbed a lot of hits that Jahmyr Gibbs didn’t have to in his first four years. 

Going to Talking Stick today…great stadium.
