  1. USC forward Chad Baker-Mazara, the team’s leading scorer, is no longer a member of the men’s basketball team the school announced Sunday. No reason for his departure was given. 
  2. Colorado quarterback Dominiq Ponder has passed away at the age of 23 head coach Deion Sanders announced Sunday. No cause of death was revealed. 
  3. Michigan guard L.J. Cason tore his right ACL and is out for the rest of the season. The Wolverines (25-2) are currently ranked third in the nation by the AP.     
  4. AP Men’s College Basketball Top 5: 1. Duke 2. Arizona 3. Michigan 4. Iowa State 5. Houston. 
  5. Mississippi State wide receiver Brenen Thompson ran a 4.26 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine Saturday. It will likely be the fastest at this year’s combine. 
  6. The Rio Hondo Prep Boys soccer team beat Pacifica Christian/OC 1-0 Saturday to win the CIF Division 8 championship. 
  7. The Kings fired coach Jim Hiller Sunday. D.J. Smith was named interim coach. The Kings are currently in fifth place in the Pacific Division and three points out of a wild-card spot in the Western Conference. 
  8. The Dodgers don’t expect left-hander Blake Snell to be ready for opening day as he continues to rehabilitate from a shoulder injury.  
  9.  The Bishop Amat Boys basketball team beat Hesperia 71-48 Saturday to win the CIF Division 8 championship 
  10.  Baseball: Calvary Baptist beat El Monte 27-0 Saturday.
