- Montebello beat San Gabriel 43-0 Friday in an Almont League baseball game.
- “He’s slower than a peanut butter river.” – One of the Arroyo football coaches at a workout Saturday morning.
- A.J. Pollack (8 RBI) and Matt Beaty (7 RBI) each hit a grand slam in the Dodgers’ 16-4 rout of Milwaukee Sunday. However Milwaukee won 3 out of 4 in the series.
- The Dodgers placed right-hander Dustin May on the 10-day injured list with an arm injury.
- Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers remains adamant that he will not return to the team according to reports.
- The Rams selected three wide receivers in the NFL draft including Tutu Atwell from Louisville with the 25th pick in the 2nd round.
- The Chargers selected OT Rashawn Slater from Northwestern with their first round pick – 13th overall.
- Jacksonville ended up with the Clemson duo of quarterback Trevor Lawrence and running back Travis Etienne. Etienne was drafted with the 25th pick in the first round after the Jaguars took Lawrence first.
- Medina Spirit won the Kentucky Derby Saturday giving trainer Bob Baffert his seventh victory, the most of any trainer in the 147 year history of the race.
Let’s do 4 innings of baseball, followed by a half of basketball, so each school can show its specialty. I figure Los Altos wins the mixed meet, 55-20. A lot of scoring, a lot of fun.
