Is Zavala still there? Wonder if he’ll blow another opportunity.
It so happens that the Covid situation may prevent the high school sports fans among us from attending any of the games this coming season. If THAT’S not relevant to this blog, what is?
Sports are still the main thing here, as far as I can tell. There has been some discussion of football even on this thread.
I just hope we can have a full slate of sporting events to attend and report on. That feat will be difficult to accomplish if we again have large numbers of people becoming seriously to gravely ill in the coming months.
Let’s conquer the damned disease so we can finally put it behind us. I’m all for that.
Lol
Welcome to the MidValleyCovid Report. A place that used to report on sports.
From T. Peterson: We report on sports. Commenters are the ones who bring up COVID.
FYI: According to an article published on March 31 by the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), the four leading causes of death in the U.S. during 2020 were: 1) heart disease; 2) cancer; 3) Covid-19; and 4) unintentional injuries.
The most shocking thing to me is Covid-19’s rapid ascent on that list. Remember, it wasn’t even a thing anywhere in the world until late 2019. Given the evolution of this more contagious and probably deadlier Delta variant, we’ve got to work together to make sure that Covid-19 doesn’t become the leading cause of death for 2021.
I hope we can get in a complete football season, as well as doing other normal things like going to work and school. Good luck to everyone.

Another clueless comment made by people that think they know it all. First, Colony has been underachievers and this year will no different. Second, you can’t compare Covid-19 to heart disease or any other diseases. There is a pandemic that is created by the unvaccinated, but that will affect us all.
I would like to have big crowds at the high school football games, but time will tell what happens. It looks pretty obvious what will happen, figure it out unvaccinated
Area game of the year is Colony vs Glendora
Colony is one of the upper-tier programs in the MVS coverage area, and its schedule looks very exciting. The big question is: will the general public be allowed to attend any of these games? Nobody really knows everything about Covid, but one thing we do know is that millions of k-12 students have been denied over a year of meaningful instruction, despite a survival rate of 99.997% among youths ages 0-19. Funny how no big fuss is made over heart disease and cancer, two killers that claim far more lives than the media’s special pandemic. I am in the corner of those 99.997% of kids who would like to have their lives back, which involves the simple act of letting individuals decide what health risks they are willing to take.
