And if the Raiders get the right number of draft picks for Fernando Mendoza, will Raiders fans continue to be Raider fans?

When it comes to sports, I like an evil empire…and I think it would be great for Duke to win another national title…My heart’s desire would be a Pepperdine title, but I’ll settle for blue bloods until Sheol freezes over.

First Add Rams: The Washington TaxSkins are releasing former Pro Bowl CB Marshon Lattimore. He turns 30 in May, but if he’s cheap, should the Rams be interested in him as a depth piece? 

Are Laker fans out on Rui Hachimura? Is Hachimura out on the Lakers? Hachimura could play 15 years in the NBA, and no one would remember him — except that he played for the Lakers.

Did you know that Juju Watkins, the star guard for the USC women’s basketball team—sitting this year out with an ACL—already has a net worth of $1-million? Does she even need the WNBA?

I went to Salt River Stadium at Talking Stick yesterday and saw the Rockies lose to the Dodgers, 7-5…What surprised me most was after a 43-win season in 2025, there were still Rockie fans…

Saw two ABS challenges…one by the catcher and the other by a batter. Both were quick, and both overturned the plate umpire’s call.

The legendary Max Mercy once told Roy Hobbs, “They come, and they go, Hobbs, they come, and they go.”

If he’d been around yesterday, he might have said the same thing to Dodger prospect Carson Hobbs, who gave up back-to-back home runs to Colorado.

Interestingly enough, the first home run was hit by Mickey Moniak, who, at the end of spring training in 2025, was in crisis because the Los Angeles Angels released him…Moniak landed in Colorado and—maybe it was because of the purple shirts—slugged 24 home runs.

The second homer off of Hobbs was by Kyle Karros, son of former Dodger first baseman Eric Karros.

(Last Note Karros: Does anyone remember a memorable home run hit by Eric Karros in his run with the Dodgers?)

Is there anything better than going to a baseball game by yourself?

Next Add Rams: Could recently released Kansas City Chiefs tackle Jawaan Taylor be a backup candidate for the Rams? He’s 29.

Speaking of offensive linemen, add Georgia guard Micah Morris to the list of players interviewed by the Rams. A possible depth piece…as of now, Morris, at best, projects to mid-6th round.

The Steelers have announced they are not releasing Jalen Ramsey, and the Buffalo Bills intend to keep Keon Coleman.
