(Los Angeles) – According to ESPN and several other sources USC has hired Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley to be its new head football coach.
Riley had a record of 55-10 in five seasons at Oklahoma including a 37-7 mark in the Big 12. The Sooners won four straight Big 12 titles and had three College Football Playoff appearances in the first four seasons under Riley.
Riley was rumored to be the named the new head coach at LSU but Riley said he was not going to LSU after Oklahoma’s 37-33 loss to Oklahoma State Saturday.
Riley will replace Clay Helton who was fired two games into this season.
Riley is no stranger to the recruiting scene in SoCal….he’s been raiding the place regularly, and now all those top jocks can stay home. Can’t believe Troy pulled this off.
