  1. The Dodgers beat the Cincinnati Reds 9-1 Sunday to complete a sweep of the four-game series and improve to 7-2 on the season. 
  2. The Boston Celtics beat the Brooklyn Nets 115-114 Sunday to take a 1-0 lead in their first round Eastern Conference Playoff series. 
  3. The Milwaukee Bucks beat the Chicago Bulls 93-86 Sunday to take a 1-0 lead in their first round Eastern Conference Playoff series. 
  4. The Reds are 2-8 through their first 10 games. 
  5. The Birmingham Stallions beat the New Jersey Generals 28-24 Saturday night to kickoff the 2022 USFL season. 
  6. Baseball: Monrovia beat Temple City 3-0 Friday to take over sole possession of first place in the Rio Hondo League with a record of 6-2-1. 
  7. Baseball: Arcadia beat Burbank 3-2 Friday to take sole possession of first place in the Pacific League with a record of 9-1. 
  8. LAFC is in first place in the Western Conference with a record of 5-1-1. 
  9. On this day in 1999 Wayne Gretzky played his last game in the NHL as his New York Rangers lost to the Pittsburgh Penquins 2-1.
