Poly finished second place in Rio Hondo league last year . They lost coach just prior to summer and program didn’t recover ; but they’ve been historically good.
Does coaching matter in football? The answer is Ceniceros at SV, Zoila at LA, Maggiore at WC and Spathias at EM. All these coaches took over very suspect rosters and put their teams in position to make the playoffs. I don’t know why people hate on these guys, all these coaches do a remarkable job wherever they go. It’s not a coincidence these guys win and win and win and win and make the best out of what they got. Just appreciate good coaching and I suggest you go out see how these teams compete. I seen everyone of these coaches operate and it fun for the kids and fans. Dale with his power run offense, Mike and Jesse with the wing offense, and Spat with his spread offense. I just happy you guys are coaching in the SGV.
I know for a fact he’s never instructed any player to cut anyone, cuts happen kids try to go low because it’s their last resort. I know it was called once in the game and it was well deserved, no one should try to injury anyone.
Beating SEM by 7 is roaring ?????
Ok….maybe you can hook up with Pioneer in epic playoff battle . But I think they might be in higher division
@ER
Check with your DC then. When confronted about it he simply said “look who I am working with” and “you guys cut too”. Watch fi and you’ll know only one team cut.
Hit him up you know he’s your friend on Facebook, why stay anonymous?
Cotton candy non-league schedule needs to be bumped up. Glendale and Pasadena Poly do them no favors.
Where’s the ranch18? Crickets 🦗
Tarzan of the Dons!
WE ARE SPATHIA!
Lions roaring at the right time!
yea , if we win we’ll be tied with garey for 1st with a record of 4-2
yes garey and bassett we be playing for a playoff spot as well as the league title
yes garey and bassett we be playing for a playoff spot as well as the league title
Does Bassett need to win next week to make playoffs?
You’re absolutely right ! SEM needs a lot of help.
1st they need to clean house
Coach Gallardo will be going on his 3rd season of having a 4-6 record.
2nd. Where are all the coaches he’s had in the previous years ? Just shows no body wants to coach on that staff.
3rd. If they keep Gallardo , it’s just shows Morales is ok with having a losing football program
The staff would be the last ones to ever try to instruct players to injure your kids, we don’t roll that way. A kid might have a brain fart and do something dumb though.
Na, no excuses LS is just better, not sure what bone you have to pick with ER, ER is one of the only programs around who still tries to do it right, sadly that’s just not enough LS is a machine.
Yep, Riser Titan is so tight with Pioneer football that he was unaware that his team LOST their Thursday game against mighty Cerritos. Either that, or he deliberately lied, figuring nobody cared enough to check on such an inconsequential sporting event.
Last nights Griffin Bowl was everything that’s good about high school football. The Lions and Eagles went back and fourth all night. The Ebbs and flows of the game were many but outstanding. The Eagles had a chance to win it at the end. But came up inches short on a pass in the end zone that would’ve tied the game. With the win, El Monte has guaranteed themselves a playoff birth while SEM needs a lot of help. They need to beat MV first, also for Rosemead to beat EM (Thursday) and for Arroyo to beat Gabrielino to force the three-way tie for third place. which I believe is still decided on the coin flip.
Go Gabrielino Tongva tribe!
Here come the ER fans and the excuses. All 3 levels were beaten easily. I have to say your offense looks like back yard football. Stop with the wildcat it doesn’t work. And your 2 hold backs that should have graduated didn’t help. Sad to say you should drop to the 605 league.
@Rise of the Titans:
Pioneer lost this week 35-14 ! MENSO!!
Although SG did not produce results I think they were competitive and made for some interesting games. Anybody that dedicates themselves to coaching at this level and tries to rebuild a program is a better person than I am. Hopefully next years team is even more improved and wins us those games we are one or two strides away from Almont league champ relevance.
The Charter Oak-Bonita game provided the best show this weekend. Two quality teams and two quality coaches, going at it in an important clash, the outcome in doubt until late in the evening….this is what it’s all about.
ER was doing illegal cuts on the LS offensive line and running backs all night and still couldn’t stop them.
Pretty sad their coaching staff is deliberately trying to injure kids out of pettiness. Who am I kidding, it’s just poor coaching.
Losers.
Same with La Habra in the Freeway League.
Yes LS is above and beyond anyone in the DRL, they started dominating right around the time WUHSD went open enrollment. Can’t complain we just gotta load up.
LS rolls again, sorry ER fans LS is light years ahead of you. You guys keep saying LS needs to go to another league but nobody says anything about Long Beach Poly changing leagues, they have been dominating for as long as I can remember.
Norco tanking their game against Chapparal is a new low lol
Wow EL rancho is really bad.
Bassett 35
La Puente 14 final
Santa Fe in last 33 games is 1-33 and that win was against Pioneer 7-6. So Cal should feel very confidant tonight. Is it true Santa Fe’s real HC is eleven?
And if my tia had huevos ahead would be my tio. A little salty I see. There were call on both sides that were suspect the onside that Shurr recovered but the BG player was Cleary down. The catch that was out of bounds but called a catch. So both teams got calls the best team won that day. So just take the L mio your tia I mean yoir tio knows best.
****ripped off 4 straight WINS (wow)
I hear pioneer got some transfers cleared thats why theyve ripped off 3 in a row and CLINCH playoff spot…. give love to the little guys.. Santa Fe looking real 605 league-ish
Really lost to Covina 41-0! A big fat goose egg! Now I know Covina is not in their league!
Frank….let ray call the D this week. 156/36 will shut the lions down!
Let’s get one thing straight BG better be thanks refs and counting blessings that they stroll that game against Schurr. If SCHURR didn’t turn over the ball which was returned for a TD and refs didn’t call 2 TD’s back and if stupid refs called the obvious holding on 4th down which allowed BG to score, SCHURR would be league champs. As of right now both teams are in D12 playoff picture and looking like a collision course for a rematch and the Spartans world love that!!!!!
Congratulations and thanks to Bell Gardens football for showing us what rising actually looks like.
Bell Gardens currently 4-0 in the league and 6-3 overall and with Mark Keppel left next week will end the regular season with a 5-0 and 7-3 overall record into the CIF Playoffs!. First year coach Hector Novoa a BG Alumni has done an excellent job to restore the BG Football Pride!. No one in Mid Valley Sports or SGV Tribune gave BG a chance this year! Prediction was for San Gabriel to win the League and BG finish 3rd or 4th? BG easily beat San Gabriel 25-15 last night. Led by Standout players Ethan Rosas QB and WR Eric Venezuela and running backs Adrian Silva and William Hernandez most of this players played both sides of the football on the field most of the season!. We already knew late in the Spring in June that BG had a special team of players this year they believed when others in the sports media did not give BG a chance? BGHS LANCERS 2022 ALMONT LEAGUE CHAMPIONS!.
From T. Peterson: I didn’t write a preview so I didn’t pick SG to win league or BG to finish 3rd or 4th. So it wasn’t Mid Valley Sports.
SG had several opportunities to possibly upset BG. I have to put this one on coaching, three trips in the red zone washed out by penalties and questionable pass plays on short yardage ( give the ball to #44) on top of that two picks in the end zone.
@Sports Man,
There is absolutely nothing wrong with it and I support that. But if you have read Rise of the Titans previous posts, there is an underlying condescending tone, even going back to when they had their previous coaching staff.
I would love to see all these keyboard warriors have these talks in an open forum to see how cool they really are in person
rapid rise PIoneer will object to join Del Rio league
FBFan? What is wrong with pulling for a Team that finally (since good teams late 90’s) has their shot playing within a league they can be competitive in ? Ramon Juarez is very good head coach ( do not allow Pioneer Principal Oviedo’s terrible mistake firing Juarez, then hiring her ST PAUL two brothers who were very successful players there) They did zero more than Ramon, probably worse.
If you have an ax to grind with Pioneer make your case other than that keep your pie hole shut Dude!
I’m buying the best 85-inch TV just to view the Titans’ division 14 Thanksgiving practice, and to replay it at all hours as a reminder of how grand life can be. In other words, let me know when these guys are ready to rejoin the Del Rio, and not one second sooner.
@Rise of the Titans,
Dude, what is your obsession with Pioneer?!
Pioneer nails down a play-off spot with the Titans 4th straight win in a 35-14 romp over league rival Cerritos. The Titans may be practicing on Thanksgiving Day this year.
25 to 7 bell gardens 9 minutes to go
