Man people are butt hurt. If your program sucks leave or get a new coach who will bring a winning culture. Coach your kids up. 98% of these kids will not play football after HS and few will play D1.

You are right, Santa Fe didn’t show this type of arrogance during their run…they showed way more! Including, but not limited, to bringing in their own banner that stated, “Chieftain Stadium”! SFHS did’t even bother hiding their transfers, and it was ever so blatant when, during 605 All Star practices, some of the SFSH players would hitch rides with those from Long Beach Poly! They were blowing teams out left and right, but threw a fit, which was laughable, when LSHS returned the favor to start their run!

Come on now, 90% homegrown?! Well, technically you may be right if you consider “homegrown” kids from within the WUHSD boundary. But if you are stating they are LSHS homegrown, you are way off base. Unless you actually meant “homegrown” with the use of Open Enrollment at the start of their HS career.
Open Enrollment, within the District, has allowed many of the 5 sister schools (LSHS, CHS, WHS, PHS, SFHS) students to apply to whichever school they hope to attend, with many indeed requesting LSHS. I would venture to say that MAYBE it’s closer to 2-4 transfers (outside of the WUHSD boundary, ex. Hacienda Heights, Pico Rivera, La Mirada, Norwalk) a year do make their way into the program, while 50-60% of athletes reside within the LSHS attendance area. The rest coming from the sister schools.
As far as recruitment, that actually comes with Ws and Ls (and Open Enrollment making it easier), many itch to be a part of a winning program. I’ve not once heard from any reliable source that the LSHS coaching staff are actively recruiting.

For all that success and open enrollment and out of city kids LS sure is arrogant, they still can’t get over the time my son threw for 450 yards on them. LS has been the dominant program the last decade, but not even Santa Fe showed this type of arrogance during their run. for all that open enrollment, application period etc bs they have 1 cif title to show for it, they aren’t unbeatable it’s just a matter of time until the other schools do something about it.
Ranch18 .. if you think LS recruits and gets all these kids in from out the area wouldnt you think for a second we would of tried to get a Kid like Angel Diaz .. maybe even that QB you guys have that came from colony who’s “little” (big and tattoo’d) brother of his is playing Varsity at Amat? i think Matt V swiped him from you guys… youre mad at the wrong program bro…. Honestly 90% of LS team is homegrown with maybe 1-2 transfers a year by kids simply wanting to play for LS … long story short…. LS would still be league champs with or without open enrollment…. The view is always better from the mountain top than the bottom looking up… Programs have lost the competitive will to win.. Cal and ER just run the playclock down to zero so they can call it a early win.. I would never send my kids to a program like that…

Both lower level games were close at halftime I believe they might’ve been tied, ER has an excellent RB on the freshmen level who was out due to injury, Ultimately LS depth is a lot to overcome. LS is a solid program, but the arrogance witnessed on here is something else.

Santa Fe ridded themselves of Pellum because of some shady backdoor deals he was doing. He got an opportunity at Millikan and just got fired again because of similar dealings. Winning is great. Winning at all costs is terrible.
There are some assistant coaches out there who have just as much, if not more clout than a lot of head coaches. Ray Medina is one of them and that doesn’t change because someone doesn’t like him.

Have you seen the talent in the Almont? It’s clearly not the coaching. Not one kid with the exception of Silva from BG will be playing in college. Wake up dude. Being committed and having talent to back up that commitment are two different things. I think Gonzalez has done a pretty good job with his talent pool. The same goes for Ramos at Schurr. Not sure what you’re looking at.

What has happened to Montebello? A program that use to be competing on a high level seems to have lost its focus. Up by three td’s to Alhambra and they lose. Congrats to the Moors but I don’t think anyone thought they would get the win. Maybe it’s time to replace Gonzalez. Doesn’t matter if you score thirty points a game if you don’t have a defense and that seems to be the trend during his tenure. A school that traditionally won against strong teams has gone the other way. Let’s get back to the old uniforms( those all blue or yellow are horrible) and find a coach who’s commitment is to both sides of the ball. I don’t think you have that with Gonzalez.
@ ER I’m sure no coach would tell his players but they didn’t stop it either. They kept doing it. So you can put it on the coaches. Teach them not to play dirty. Karma will bite them one day.
