T-Minus-50 Days until “The Mid Valley Classic”
Good Morning!
Safe to say the Dodgers are a struggle right now, caught myself flipping over to NBA Summer League action last night…and that was on tape delay.
Its only 43 days until the Smudge Pot game…all the talk, all the set up, all the build up…we’re nearly out of the woods…
Is it safe to say the second playoff spot in the Montview is wide open? La Puente is replacing a load of talent. Gladstone is rebuilding an offensive line and installing a new quarterback…and Duarte is still rebuilding…
Could Workman with HC Scott Morrison and quarterback Val Cervantez fit into this mix?
Overlooked this summer? Rosemead’s Matt Fregoso.
The cruelties of life? Former Dodger reliever Guillermo Mota is pitching for the Giants, his seventh MLB team, still having his fastball clocked at 94 or above, and making 750,000 a year. He doesn’t close, he doesn’t start, he doesn’t even really set-up…
I shoulda learned to play the guitar, I shoulda learned to play them drums…
I can understand wanting to win, but the linemen’s competition at Arroyo consisted of a relay race and a tire throw…please… Now if you want to complain about a lack of a tug-o-war then I’m down.
I don’t want to be Norman Negative here, but, based on poll voting, you guys are not considering strength of those teams on the otherside of those La Habra Hills… I mean I like Diamond Ranch as well as the next fellow (so I’ll move over and let you talk to the next fellow)…but La Mirada, Norwalk, and Mayfair pack a serious punch.
Amazing how Thomas Jones has had the most amazing five consecutive seasons in recent NFL history. The guy goes from a draft bust in Arizona, a cup of coffee in Tampa Bay, to five straight thousand yard seasons (two in Chicago, three in New York).
Curious to know how many fantasy players have never drafted him thinking he’d already given the best he had?
Rumor has it a new Fantasy Sportswriter League is going to be started. You’ll fill out your roster with a column writer, game story guy, and a feature hack. Points will be added for every grammatical, factual, or common sense mistake made. FSL team with lowest number of mistakes wins.
Last Add Fantasy Sportswriter League: No, niether weight or cholesteral count willl be factored into the point system. At least not for the 2010 season.
Was what DeWayne Wade said about the World Trade Center, the worst thing ever uttered? Was it even the worst thing said in the last week?
Because I’ve been told to, and really should, I did some checking on Valley Christian. They have some nice size returning and decent back in Trevor Rodriguez, but a lot of folks are high senior quarterback Ryan Fronke. At 6’3” 190, Fronke is being counted on to replace the talented Kevin Running.
Former Arroyo center Kenny Andrew and Whittier Christian tailback Garrett Fulbright are the guests on tonight’s “Mid Valley Sports Show”…
“Football Rush Week” is coming…August 23-27.
Stay thirsty my friends…
