(Arcadia) – Arcadia scored five runs in the first inning and that was all the Apaches needed in a 9-1 win over Damien on Opening Day Saturday at Giambrone Field.
Ian Hoffstetter went five innings and allowed just two hits and one earned run while striking out nine and walking two. After a five-run first and with Hoffstetter on the mound Arcadia was in cruise control the rest of the way.

The Apaches added single runs in the third and fourth innings and scored two more in the fifth. Jerry Carlos had a big day with two hits and five RBI. Damian Catano also knocked in two.
Damien’s only run came in the fifth inning on a run scoring single by Justin Dunn.
Arcadia is trash. That will probably be the only game they win this season
