  3. The Arizona Diamondbacks acquired third baseman Eugenio Suarez from the Seattle Mariners for right-hander Carlos Vargas and veteran catcher Seby Zavala.  
  4. Men’s College Basketball Top 5: 1. Kansas 2. Purdue 3. Arizona 4. Marquette 5. UConn. 
  5. UCLA lost to Gonzaga 69-65 Wednesday night at the Maui Invitational. 
  6. Willie Hernandez, who won the 1985 Cy Young and Most Valuable Players awards for the World Series champion Detroit Tigers, has passed away at the age of 69. 
  7. #12 Mississippi beat Mississippi State 17-7 Thursday to improve to 10-2 on the season.
  8. Cowboys cornerback DaRon Bland set a single-season record Thursday with his fifth pick-six of the season.

    DaRon has the wrong last name, because he’s anything but bland. The moves he made after the interception were spicy indeed.
