  1. The New England Patriots beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 21-18 on Thursday Night Football. 
  2. Cajon Alum and current LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels was named AP College Football Player of the Year. 
  3. The Rams signed kicker Mason Crosby. 
  4. The New York Yankees acquired outfielders Juan Soto and Trent Grisham from the San Diego Padres for five players. 
  5. The Arizona Diamondbacks signed left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez to a four-year, $80 million deal. Rodriguez went 13-9 with a 3.30 ERA last year with the Detroit Tigers. 
  6. Ohio St. junior wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. is undecided about entering the NFL draft. 
  7. Hoover will be re-entering the Pacific League for football in 2024 but Glendale will not which means that Glendale will play a free-lance schedule once again with no possibility of qualifying for the playoffs. 
  8. The Dodgers reportedly asked reliever Joe Kelly to surrender his number 17 jersey for Shohei Ohtani. 
  9. Duke has hired Penn St. defensive coordinator Manny Diaz as its new head football coach. Diaz was the head coach at Miami 2019 to 2021.
  10. UCLA will play Boise St. in the LA Bowl at SoFi Stadium on Saturday, December 16.

    I can’t recall when Glendale had any possibility of making the playoffs, league membership or not. I say we put them in D14 as a charity case and watch them go all the way like Bell Gardens. For moral support, Nitro kids could copy the La Serna idiocy about Kingdoms and Gold Standards…good times!!
