- The New York Yankees acquired outfielders Juan Soto and Trent Grisham from the San Diego Padres for five players.
- The Arizona Diamondbacks signed left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez to a four-year, $80 million deal. Rodriguez went 13-9 with a 3.30 ERA last year with the Detroit Tigers.
- Ohio St. junior wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. is undecided about entering the NFL draft.
- Hoover will be re-entering the Pacific League for football in 2024 but Glendale will not which means that Glendale will play a free-lance schedule once again with no possibility of qualifying for the playoffs.
- The Dodgers reportedly asked reliever Joe Kelly to surrender his number 17 jersey for Shohei Ohtani.
- Duke has hired Penn St. defensive coordinator Manny Diaz as its new head football coach. Diaz was the head coach at Miami 2019 to 2021.
- UCLA will play Boise St. in the LA Bowl at SoFi Stadium on Saturday, December 16.
