Northview Run Ends in Finals

(Ontario) – Temecula Valley opened up 13-point halftime lead and went on to beat Northview 53-40 Saturday to win the CIF Division 4A title at Toyota Arena in Ontario.

Northview committed 15 turnovers in the first half and trailed Temecula Valley 25-12 at the half. 

Temecula Valley outscored Northview by two in the third quarter to extend the lead to 15 at 38-23 at the end of three and then maintained the lead in the fourth quarter for the victory. 

Northview struggled to find a rhythm offensively and finished with 23 turnovers overall which led directly to 22 points for Temecula Valley. Nobody scored in double figures for the Vikings. Caleb McKendrick had nine points and 11 rebounds and Alex Medrano scored eight. 

For Temecula Valley Jeremiah Profit led the team with 18 and Liam Hodgkinson had 10. Temecula Valley’s biggest lead was 17 points with 44 seconds left in the third quarter.

Northview cut it to eight at one point before eventually falling by 13.
