I find it a bit perplexing that you complain about the tedious length of a game you didn’t attend , but gather that your complaint is about the game of baseball rather than this particular game. Lower division baseball can be slow as pitchers struggle to throw strikes , infield play inconsistent and outs hard to find . This appeared to be a great contest however with extra innings , comebacks , controversies and umpire disputes adding to length and tension. I’m certain that those in attendance were on the edge of their seats and will remember the game into the future .

I will agree that baseball is a great game for radio , as you can do things around the house / yard and still follow your team . Unfortunately, both are on the cultural downswing……

@one. How old are you? Y0u remember baseball before it was televised? The first baseball game was televised in 1939–you can look it up. I’m sure that no rules are needed to prevent you from scoring. (Also, it’s duel, not dual)

I wasn’t at the game, since you asked. Look, baseball was better before television let us all see the tedious dual between pitcher and batter, which is similar to watching paint dry. As for soccer, what can you say about a sport where the rules are all aimed at preventing scoring?

Of the three hours and 39 minutes, the ball was in play less than five minutes. The other three hours and 34 minutes were spent wondering when the ball was going to get hit. It’s true that baseball and soccer rank almost as high as colonoscopy on the enjoyment scale.
