- Former MLB player Billy Bean, who came out as gay a few years after his retirement, passed away Tuesday of leukemia at the age of 60. Bean retired in 1995 and has worked for MLB since 2014. He eventually became the sport’s senior vice president for diversity, equity and inclusion.
- The U.S. Men’s basketball team routed Brazil 122-87 Tuesday in the quarterfinals at the Paris Olympics.
- The Chicago White Sox beat the Oakland A’s 5-1 Tuesday night to snap a 21- game losing streak, which tied an AL record.
