- The Chicago Bears fired head coach Matt Eberflus Friday after the Bears failed to call a timeout in the final 32 seconds as the game clock expired in a 23-20 loss to the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Day. The Bears (4-8) have lost six straight.
- Michigan and Ohio St. were fined $100,000 each by The Big Ten for their roles in a postgame melee following Michigan’s win over Ohio St. Saturday.
#6 , I have mixed feelings about this playoff system. A 10-0 team like Northview has to face a Long Beach Poly in the first round. With all respect to Northview but that’s a tall order. Yet, in the oast Sierra Canyon won championships in the lower divisions. I know they equity but 1-9 team winning CIF is a joke.
@ LP: Yep. That outcome alone fully illustrates the absurdity of the current CIF Southern Section playoff system.
