(Tempe City) – California had 11 different players score and it proved to be too much for Alhambra in a 78-59 win over the Moors in the Temple City/ Duarte Tournament.

The Condors have 15 players on the roster and everybody saw action early and often in hockey style substitutions. Five players would hit the court and five would run off. Cal jumped out to a 17-11 lead in the first quarter, extended it to 12 at the half before breaking it wide open in the third quarter.

Cal increased the lead to 19 points at the end of the third quarter and led by many as 30 early in the fourth before the Moors cut into it late in the game.

In the fourth quarter Edgar Beltran knocked down three consecutive threes and Kenny Renfrow and Jeremy Dayton also buried shots from beyond the arc as the Condors led 72-41 at one point. California scored 25 points in the fourth quarter to put the game away.

The Moors warmed up late and matched the Condors total of 25 in the fourth but it was too little, too late. Landon Winslow, who was Alhambra’s go to guy all night, scored 11 points in the quarter. Winslow tried to keep the Moors in the hunt as he led all scorers with 34 of his team’s 59 points.

In the first half Renfrow and Beltran each scored 10 as Cal got out to a 34-22 lead. Winslow scored 13 in the first half to lead Alhambra. The Moors were still within striking distance until the Condors came out firing in the third quarter and pulled away.

For California Beltran (24) and Renfrow (21) combined for 45 points. Dayton scored 7 and Aham Nwosu added 6. For the Moors it was almost all Winslow and his 34 but Ryan Cerros did chip in 13.

California improved to 7-9 with the victory while Alhambra dropped to 8-7
