@ Ron Vrooman, with the new league alignment that came out, I am not sure the non-league schedules are going to have any kind of regularity anymore. My guess is the non-league schedules will just be two year stints. 1 home and 1 away game. Besides Alhambra and SP not playing, I noticed Monrovia is no longer playing San Dimas in it’s non-league schedule.
@ Low Profile: You have a point there.
Alhambra has lost four straight games to South Pasadena after posting back-to-back wins against the Tigers in 2018 and ’19 (when the Moors finished 8-2 and 12-1, respectively). El Segundo should be a pretty tough nonleague opponent for South Pas more often than not.
The South Pas matchup is now totally non competitive . SP would be favored by 40
… it’s right there in the HSR . El Segundo on schedule for SP
@ Ron Vrooman, I was surprised as well not to see South Pas on their schedule. As you said that has been a neighbor v neighbor match up for a very long time.
I believe that the matchup with Gabrielino will be Alhambra’s annual scrimmage, because teams nowadays play no more than 10 regular-season games. Also, the Moors have played their opener against South El Monte every season since 2017.
La Salle’s place on the AHS schedule has been taken by Azusa, but the thing that really stands out for me is that Alhambra will not be playing South Pasadena for the first time in decades. The Tigers are being replaced as an opponent by the L.A. Wilson Mules, whom the Moors haven’t met since 2019.
For those (like me) who have trouble reading the fine print, Senior Night for the Moors will be on Oct. 3 against Bell Gardens, and they’ll play their homecoming game versus Mark Keppel on Oct. 31.
Good luck to Coach Mike Mackintosh and his team!
From T. Peterson: Correct. The Gabrielino game is a scrimmage.
If you are looking for wins , search out MVL opponents. Add in bottom of RHL and maybe they can squeak out a couple wins before Keppel.
