  2. South Florida routed Boise State 34-7 Thursday in the college football opener for both teams.
  3. Baldwin Park beat Covina 49-41 Thursday night. Our own Tim Peterson had Covina winning 38-31.
  4. Philadelphia Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber hit four home runs and had 9 RBI Thursday night in a 19-4 win over the Atlanta Braves.
  5. Green Bay signed Parsons to a four-year, $188 million contract.
  6. Maranatha quarterback Cooper Berry has thrown for nine touchdowns and over six hundred yards in the first two games.
  7. LA Wilson beat Bosco Tech 70-0 Thursday night. Bosco Tech has been outscored 108-0 in the first two games.
  8. The Dodgers are two games ahead of the San Diego Padres in the NL West heading into a weekend series with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
  9. Former MLB star Mark Teixeira is running for a U.S House seat in Texas.
  10. Baldwin Park (2-0) has scored 104 points in the first two games.
