In time TC HC Mike McFarland will right all the wrongs of Friday night's loss to Arroyo.

Good Evening!

Oh, didn’t I mention it?

I have always been a Denard Robinson fan…

When you essentially have four head coaches over the course of three seasons the results are usually something akin to 42-6 on opening night.

Note to TC Fans: You can’t lose coaches and players like Brandon Cox, the Copping Twins, and Andrew Gibson and not have it take a toll. But don’t be disheartened, you’ve got a coaching staff that will improve the team and players like Tim Sanderson and Carlos Mota to watch. So keep perspective and enjoy the season.

(I’m tempted to say; ‘Trust me, I’m a sportswriter’, then again that’s like saying; ‘Trust me, I’m a lawyer’.)

Burroughs two losses, both by six-points, have to be frustrating for HC Keith Knoop especially since they missed numerous opportunities against Canyon. Lucas Yanez makes plays.

Far be it from me to accuse anyone of anything, but as the Daily News writer and I were standing on the sideline in Canyon Country we both became suspicious of the home town finger on the clock late in the fourth quarter.

Last Add Temple City: I do think it is safe to make weekend plans that third week of November.

Time to sound the RED ALERT in a few places:

First: Alhambra with new HC Lou Torres having to step back this past week and have Jacob Ochoa step in. That’s a lot of change for a young team.

Second: San Gabriel has been 0-2 many times in the past but when the second loss of the season is against South Pasadena, a team not expected to make the playoffs, it’s time to reach for the Mylanta.

Third: Schurr had a bad scrimmage against La Canada, and then played an even worse game against Cantwell to open the season. Who runs for 365-yards and five touchdowns against the Spartans defense? Apparently Cantwell’s Jonathan Mesa does.

I was at the 1975 NFC Championship game when the Cowboys beat the Rams 37-7. Since, I’ve always wanted the ultimate payback. The playoff wins in Dallas in 1976, 1979, and 1983 felt really good. The 21-0 playoff victory in 1985 when Eric Dickerson ran wild was fantastic.

But not until Sunday night did I feel I got my ultimate revenge on the Cowboys. Seeing former Rams slug Alex Barron lining up at right tackle and then costing Dallas the game against Washington was sweeter than strawberry pie.

Speaking of the Rams, I thought it was interesting after one half of football Jimmy Johnson and Howie Long were ready to put Sam Bradford into the NFL Hall of Fame.

Let’s see how the South El Monte does against Workman this week before we think about pulling the trigger and declaring this team in RED ALERT mode. Although more than one local coach has said they think the Southmen are in trouble.

“The team is good,” said El Monte HC Joel Sanchez after the Lions disappointing loss to La Puente on Thursday night. “We are a little banged up but ready for the challenge. We did a lot of positive things but need to finish.”

After opening 2010 with a bad loss in Big Bear, Maranatha bounced back on Friday against La Salle; “I was extremely pleased with our performance. Seeing the growth that they displayed in just a week gives me a lot of confidence as we move into the thick of our schedule,” said Minuteman HC Joel Murphy. “There were still examples of our youth seen throughout the game but all in all I was quite pleased. Elfers did a much better job making decisions of when/where to throw/run which paid great dividends for us. Omar Younger ran the ball extremely well.”

The Mid: “Coach, did your team regain focus?”

San Dimas HC Bill Zernickow: “We are still a work in process. We can improve in so many areas. I can’t wait to see how we will improve. We have two very good opponents coming up (Rancho and M-town) who will really prepare us to compete in the Valle Vista and the Mid Valley playoffs if we are fortunate enough to make it.”

“I was really proud of our team,” said Northview HC Marcel Perez. The Vikings, coming off a 1-9 season, with a rookie head coach, were a team many expected to be rolled early. However, they competed well against ER. “El Rancho was a good team, and they beat us. I am really happy about our performance it was just a tough loss. We need to come to play every week and we will be fine.”

Minor drama settled in Bonita on Monday, now banged up bodies are a concern. Bearcats do get Tarez Lemmons back this week.

Muir is beginning to resemble a MASH unit heading to Amat this week.

Last Add Burroughs: A potential star in the making is junior Zander Anding, who runs and catches the ball. A “Miracle Man”…

Nice bounce back for West Covina…and make me president of the Billy Livingston/Geovontray Ainsworth Fan Club…dudes can ball.

Last Add Covina: Adam Vanderloop, safety… “Bad Dude”…
