The Ten: 3/19/2026

The TEN

(“The TEN” is not a top ten but ten items worth being included in “The TEN”)

1—“I’m not OK with winning the silver. I don’t want to win silver. I want to win gold, just like anybody else. But at the end of the night, man, they did it. They won. I’ve got all of the respect for them and what they did.”—Bryce Harper

2—Luca Doncic scored 40, LeBron James 30, and the Lakers defeated the Houston Rockets, 124-116, for their seventh consecutive win, and 10th out of 11 games.

3— “Just pulled up to Palm Beach. Where my president at. Let’s golf!”—Ravens CB Marlon Humphrey

4— “This is just another move on the lower level of privates. The biggest question on the top level of H.S. football is: will anybody be able to catch up with what Carson Palmer is doing at Santa Margarita? Jason Negro of Bosco is hot on the trail along with Raul Lara of Mater Dei, while three new coaches at Servite, O-Lu and JSerra will give it their best shot. It’s crazy, because the brand of football being played at these elite schools is good enough to topple many small college teams.”—MVS commentator, Big Boy Football, responding to QB Cooper Berry transferring from Maranatha to Cathedral.

5— “Nobody had an answer for Bill Walton…Today’s Celtics, they couldn’t do nothing with William.”—Robert Parrish

6—Philadelphia Eagles acquire QB Andy Dalton from Carolina Panthers for a seventh-round pick. For Dalton, 38, a second round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals in 2011, the Eagles are his seventh NFL franchise.

7—On this date in 2010 Monrovia right-hander Aaron Murphee throws 4-hit shutout as the Wildcats beat South Pasadena 2-0.

8—The Los Angeles Rams withdrew their rule-change proposal related to the crazy two-point conversion that the Seahawks scored against them last season. It was not among the proposals made by individual NFL teams that were released, yesterday, by the league.

9—The Philadelphia Eagles have signed free agent WR Hollywood Brown. Brown, 28, was originally a first-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens in 2019.

10—“Does anything denote you as ‘in-the-box’ more than using the term ‘outside-the-box?” —Dennis Miller
