It is real difficult to do a daily column when you have no computer. I honestly never realized how much I depended on it.
So in the immortal words of the fertility drug-enriched Manny Ramirez, “I’m back”.
Just in case you haven’t noticed the Washington – Pittsburgh Stanley Cup playoff series is turning into a classic.
This is the type of series the NHL needed to become somewhat relevant again. Sidney Crosby vs Alex Ovechkin. What more can a hockey fan want?
The third game of the series saw both stars get a hat-trick for their teams. Thats what the league needed.
Speaking of playoff series, the Detroit Redwings weren’t really thinking they were going to sweep or take down playoff tested Anaheim did they?
The Ducks are two years removed from their Stanley Cup Championship run and now face last season’s Champ.
After a three-overtime game two, the Ducks took a 2-1 lead into Thursday’s game only to get smoked 6-3 by the Motor City visitors. It is crucial for Anaheim to win and head to Detroit up 3-2 in the series.
Changing gears quickly.
The Los Angeles Lakers needed to become a physical team against the Houston Rockets to survive the series.
It only makes sense that Derek Fisher and Kobe Bryant were the ones that became the physical presence the Lakers so desperately need. Of course, D-Fish looked like a linebacker when he leveled Luis Scola.
After further review, Scola really needed to get a two-minute penalty for embellishment. Fisher should go and get tested after getting that tooth impression.
Enjoy your day. It’s filled with sports, what else can you ask for?
