St. Francis Blows Through C-Valley

(La Canada) St. Francis quarterback Brett Nelson threw three touchdown passes and ran for another to lead the Golden Knights to a 42-14 win over Crescenta Valley Friday night.

St. Francis built its 28-0 lead at the half when Nelson connected with wide receiver Travis Talianko for a 13-yard score with 6:37 to play in the first quarter. Four minutes later Nelson made it 14-0 on a 7-yard run.

On the first play of the second quarter Nelson went to Talianko again from 3-yards out and the rout was on.

Two minutes later Keith Enterante caught a 6-yard pass from Nelson.

The Falcons finally broke through at the 6:59 mark of the third quarter when Kevin Fernandez scored on a 33-yard run.

The Golden Knights answered back when Ryan Jenkins galloped in from 51-yards on a reverse.

In the fourth each team added a touchdown. CV on Zac Wilkerson’s 3-yard run and St. Franks on Austin De Los Santos 8-yard run.

Crescenta Valley never made a serious threat.
