Kick it!
Once I had a job where I was the third person in the pecking order.
The boss would yell at me because it was easier to yell at me than it was to yell at the dude who was #2 in the pecking order.
I knew as I was getting yelled at, it was really for dude #2, but I had to take it.
This is what the SMU-ing of the Los Angeles Clippers feels like to me as someone from the outside looking in.
The NBA and Adam Silver couldn’t yell at the Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, or the Los Angeles Lakers…so they yelled at the Clippers.
I’m not saying the Clippers aren’t guilty—I don’t know. If they fight tooth & nail, I’m going to root for them…But I think the Clippers were easier to yell at than the blue bloods in the Association.
Last Add Silver: It’s one thing to deliver justice—appropriate justice—but it’s another thing to go beyond justice on someone who won’t be able to defend themselves.
Last Add NBA: Late to the game on this, and I’m open to enlightenment and straightening out…Did Steve Ballmer’s building of the Intuit Dome hack a few of the Association’s suits? (Purely a speculative thought. Publicly, the NBA supported it, according to GROK… I’m just curious, because the Lakers did get a cut of the Clippers’ profits when they played at Staples/Crypto.)
I’m excited about the Colorado Rocky Mountain Prime playing tonight…I want to see the Buffs raining fire in the sky.
I heard a rumor that Uncle Stan may move the Angels to a new stadium in Long Beach. If so, that would be the best thing to happen to Long Beach since Jerry Tarkanian.
Long Beach Angels has a nice sound to it.
#103—May the San Francisco Giants rot and lie stinking in the earth…
HBO’s Hard Knocks ended last night, of course, with no one getting hard knocked…
The SEC has sued LSU and HC Lane Kiffin over putting players who had signed NFL contracts on the roster. Then Texas and Louisiana judges issued a temporary restraining order against the SEC and NCAA, creating a legal standoff with Clemson coming to LSU this Saturday.
In the midst of all this madness, can you imagine anyone, any judge, any body, taking a stance in favor of Lane Kiffin?
That’s like saying, “I’ve got a good feeling about this Ted Kennedy guy.”
Final Add Rams: Of course, I want them to win…Having a Rams podcast (RamView) Monday-Wednesday-Friday on YouTube…Having written a novel about the Rams (“Game Day In The RamCave” available on Amazon) means it’s good for me financially if they win…
…But all the positive talk about them being a lock for the Super Bowl and being an all-time great team is making me nervous.
I heard 97.1’s Alex Curry talk about how the Rams, à la Joe Burrow, are manifesting greatness this season.
Manifesting talk is bad mojo…I tried to manifest Phoebe Cates into going out with me in her Fast Times days. It didn’t work because manifesting doesn’t work…
Titles have to be won on the field…so let’s heed the words of The Wolf until then, and slow our roll on the Rams.
The Dude abides…
