By George Hernandez (El Monte) – The two and a half hour drive to El Monte didn’t slow down Devonte Jackson who had 19 points to lead Tahquitz to a 48-42 win over Mountain View Wednesday night in the first round of the CIF Division 4AA Playoffs.

(El Monte) – Mountain View broke open a close game with a 14-2 blitz in the fourth quarter and went on to beat Gabrielino 56-41 Friday night at home.

Matadors win Ninth Straight

By Corey Kwok (San Gabriel) – San Gabriel’s 17-2 run stretching from late in the third to early in the fourth propelled the Matadors to a 56-40 win over Mountain View Thursday night in non league action.
