(Monrovia) – What looked promising for Monrovia early in the game ended up being a 32-14 victory for the St. Francis Golden Knights who improved to 3-0 on the season.
The Knights drove down the field on there first possession but running back Areg Nazarian lost the football and Jordan Peevy recovered for Monrovia and returned it 93 yards for the score.
Peevy finished the night with 15 carries for 95 yards and a pair of touchdowns and also caught a pass for a score.
The Knights also looked good in the air as Miles Bryant finished the night 9 of 15 for 165 yards and two touchdowns. He hit Nazarian for one and another of 46 yards to Daniel Scott.
Wildcats quarterback Asaph Zamora had trouble against the St. Francis defense but still managed to throw for 151 yards off ten completions and threw a 56-yard TD strike to Aubrey Mosley. Lawrence Spicer was held to 49 yards on 17 carries.
The Knights will travel to Canyon next week, while the 2-2 Cats will travel to Los Altos for their final game before they begin Rio Hondo League play.
