Herrington Out at St. Francis

By Tim Peterson (La Canada) – Dean Herrington was let go as the head football coach at St. Francis after five seasons Fred Robledo at SGVN Sports and Eric Sondheimer of the LA Times reported Tuesday.

Schurr Wraps up the Almont

By Tim Peterson (Montebello) – Schurr’s defense scored two touchdowns and the offense did the rest as the Spartans rolled to a 35-2 rout of Bell Gardens Friday night. With the victory Schurr wrapped up the Almont League title with a perfect record of 5-0.

Northview Rolls in Regular Season Finale

By Tim Peterson (West Covina) – Northview jumped out to a 21-0 lead at halftime and never let up in a 35-0 rout of West Covina in the final regular season game Thursday night at West Covina High.

Mid Valley High School Football Top 12

Travis Lippert and Bonita check in at number five. Downey and Charter Oak jumped over Damien into the top two spots after the Spartans lost to Chino Hills. Northview also lost and dropped down to number eight. Rio Hondo Prep, Los Altos and Rowland are all still undefeated.

By Tim Peterson (Inglewood) – The Chargers jumped out to a 21-3 lead at halftime and made it stand up in a 37-10 win over Minnesota Thursday night before 71,094 fans at SoFi Stadium.
