(La Puente) – Covina running back Gatsbee Gumban has transferred to Nogales. It was confirmed that he checked into the school Thursday.
Gumban, who will be entering his senior year, rushed for 1.212 yards and 13 touchdowns for the Colts last year. He also caught 23 passes for 255 yards and a score.
Nogales finished 7-4 overall last year and lost to Bellflower 14-7 in the first round of the CIF Division 12 playoffs.
Kevin Encinas has taken over as the new head coach for the Nobles after Matt Villasenor stepped down to become the head coach at Muir.
