By Corey Kwok (Citrus College) – The annual “Clash for the Canyon” lived up to its billing as Azusa knocked off Gladstone 14-7 in a defensive battle Thursday night at Citrus College in Montview League action.

(Pomona) – Baldwin Park intercepted two passes and returned them for touchdowns in the fourth quarter to cap a 33-12 win over Pomona Thursday night in Valle Vista League action.

Ball out Six Weeks

  Rowland quarterback Michael Ball will be sidelined six weeks with a broken collarbone Raider Coach Craig Snyder confirmed today. Ball was hurt in the first quarter of Rowland’s 27-7 win over Rowland Friday night.  

Mid Valley Division Top 30

The top five remained the same. Number four, San Marino, lost but it was to top ranked Monrovia and the Titans had a chance to tie it in the last minute. The bottom five teams are a combined 0-31. Here’s how it stacks up.          

Friday Night Round Ups

San Gabriel 21 Keppel 7   Isaac Valdez threw for 140 yards and a touchdown to lead the Matadors to a 21-7 win over Keppel. The touchdown pass was caught by Mark Covarrubias and Fabian Amaro scored twice for San Gabriel in the Almont League opener.
