Gevontray Ainsworth and Covina move up to number 4

I know I know…San Dimas beat Monrovia. But at this time the Wildcats are playing better football. South Carolina beat Alabama but that doesn’t mean the Gamecocks are a better team.

M-Town is number one after impressive wins over South Hills and Paramount. Whittier Christian only drops one spot after losing to undefeated Cantwell by a touchdown. Azusa and Covina can play with anybody. Baldwin Park made the biggest jump after a signature win over San Dimas.

1. Monrovia (3-2): After one and two fall, Cats move to the top.

14. San Gabriel (2-3): Mats open up Almont at Montebello.

15. Valley Christian (3-3): Win over St. Margaret’s gets Valley to .500.

Number of teams represented in each league: Valle Vista 4, Rio Hondo 3, Olympic 4, MVL 3, Montview 2, Almont 4

Notes: Pomona and Sierra Vista dropped out of the Top 20 after losses. The Red Devils lost to previously winless Northview by two touchdowns while the Dons, (19 last week), were routed by Azusa 41-7. Valley Christian, who has won two straight including a win over St. Margaret’s, moved in to 15. Ulloa and Mountain View cracked the top 20 after dropping 49 on Bell-Jeff.
