A Closer Look at the Hacienda

Well so much for Bonita winning the Hacienda. They were out-played in every facet of the game against West Covina and now must beat Diamond Ranch in two weeks to get second. The Bearcats must still get by Rowland who is fighting for its playoff lives.

The Bulldogs and Panthers faceoff for what could be the Hacienda League Championship game with both having a game left after this week’s match-up. This might also be the game to determine the #1 seed in the CIF Southeast Division playoffs.

Diamond Bar might have the inside track to get the wildcard if they are able to go 1-1 in its final two games.

Walnut has the inside track on the final spot in the league after defeating Rowland last week.

HACIENDA LEAGUE

West Covina (7-1, 4-0) – What can you say that hasn’t already been said about the Bulldogs? They are incredible on both sides of the ball. People continue talk about the offense but what about the defense. Justin Meaders and Maurice Dupleasis anchor the linebacking corp. Lonzell Barnett maybe the best cover-corner in the Valley.

Diamond Ranch (5-3, 4-0) – The Panthers are just as physical as West Covina on offense and defense when it comes to the “smash-mouth” football.  Cesar Carrillo will be the intangible against the Bulldogs. Good running back corp for Diamond Ranch will keep the game close against West Covina on Friday.
