Saints Capture Crown

(Anaheim) – San Dimas scored four runs in the fifth inning to overcome a 2-0 deficit and went on to beat Torrance 4-2 Saturday and win the CIF Division IV Championship at Angel Stadium in Anaheim.

  Thomas Jensen and Kevin Ponzo each had two hits and Ponzo also drove in a run in the four run fifth inning rally. The Saints had ten hits overall but were held scoreless until pushing across the four. 

  Ponzo went five innnings for San Dimas and Erik Salcido went the last two. The pair held Torrance to just three hits overall. Ponzo allowed one of them while walking four and striking out two. Salcido fanned two and walked one.

  Andrew Pulido started and went five for Torrance. He fanned two and allowed four earned runs and nine hits. Ralph Ramirez worked a scoreless sixth.
