Boscarino's bank shot wins the La Canada HS-Midvalleysports.com New Year's Tournament.

(La Canada) – Melissa Boscarino found the right time to call her shot with less than a second remaining in the game. With Montclair Prep on the verge of winning the La Canada HS-Midvalleysports.com New Year’s Tournament, Hart had one shot and Boscarino banked it from the top of the arc to give the Indians a 57-55 win.

Boscarino’s efforts over the tournament gave her All-Tourney status but her seven points in the fourth quarter help finish a furious comeback that saw Hart down by as many as 13 points in the second quarter. She finished with nine points.

The Indians didn’t see the lead until 6:03 seconds when Madyson Staley drilled a three-pointer to take a 43-42 lead over the Mounties.

Montclair Prep’s Kimberly Scamman answered right back to stop a 10-3 Hart run. Scamman finished the night with a team high 19 points.

With both teams trading baskets, the Mounties finally had a defensive stop and were able to tie the game at 52 with 1:11 remaining with Alex Inouye hitting a short-jumper.

Christina Falcone made two key free-throws to give the Indians a two point lead with 56 seconds remaining in the game to make the score 54-52.

With forty-one seconds remaining in the game Tassara Azad found the bottom of the net from three-point range to give Montclair Prep a one point lead.

After the Indians missed an opportunity to score, Alex Taylor was fouled with nine seconds remaining. Taylor missed both free-throws to set up the dramatic conclusion.

Falcone led all players with 20 points and Maraiah Glasshoff was named tournament M.V.P.
