Joe Torosian

Good Morning!

Marshawn Lynch? That dude’s alright!

Any team that defeats New Orleans and ends their season is very high in my cool book.

Even in defeat however NBC’s Tom Hammonds couldn’t resist talking about how the Saints lifted the spirits of an entire city…blah, blah, blah….and restored hope…yada, yada, yada…Time to vomit…

Go Seahawks…

Division II Chadron State has made an official offer to Monovia’s Nick Bueno…to play quarterback.

***

Chadron is located in Nebraska and is currently home to former area standouts David Slover (South Hills/Fullerton J.C.) and Tyler Perri (Charter Oak).

The Post-Lucas Yanez Era is set to begin at Burroughs.

“Yes, I’m feeling recharged,” says Indians HC Keith Knoop heading into 2011. “Eli Peppmuller our free safety is slated to be the next quarterback. He was the JV league champ quarterback in 2009. He is a 6′ 1 190 kid who can run and throw. He got to watch Lucas for three years, that counts for something. Our JV quarterback is also a good looking kid who will be a good number two, Kody James.”

Yanez accounted for 28 touchdowns in 2010…19 through the air, nine more on the ground, plus 2,500 yards of offense.

Peppmuller has two varsity pass attempts under his belt.

Last Add New Orleans: Yes, I will root for the Saints when they play the Russians, Al-qaeda, or EPA…

***

Word out of South Pasadena is they are interviewing applicants through January 28th and hope to have the head coaching position filled by March 1.

***

By the way the Conor Bednarski highlight video is great to watch…

***

“They are working us hard in the weight room,” said Burbank linebacker/fullback Gary Clements who will be a sophomore this fall. Clements was a post-season call up to the varsity after starring on the Bulldogs undefeated, 10-0, freshman squad.

***

We’ve often shared that His Arroyo Baldness is much tougher to interview after a win than a loss…Actually after flying to Kansas City and tailgating in the snow at Arrowhead Stadium, only to watch his Chiefs get hammered by the Ravens…I’m curious as to the kind of mood he was in on the flight back…

***

Good young players…team beginning to find itself…yes, its definitely the season for a catastrophic knee injury in Clipper-Land…

***

Ray Hernandez will continue to teach at South El Monte, so to answer a poster’s question, so I doubt there will be a teaching job attached to the SEM football HC poisition…

***

Of course rumors of a possible return of Erick Escamilla to the sidelines at The Swamp are running strong…We’ve heard them, we’ve heard details…but lets just say nothing is a lock…

***

Chase Rettig, former La Salle product, is starting as a true freshman for Boston College. I don’t know exactly what the “Fight Hunger Bowl” is all about…but I’d play in it if I could…

***

The Mid: So what do you think about Coach (Mike) McKay coming to Pasadena?

PHS Quarterback Brandon Cox: Man, super excited.. I’ve known Coach Mckay since I was a little boy and grew up seeing his offense wishing one day I would be the one leading that offense. To know he is about to come coach at PHS is just super exciting.”

The Mid: What does your off season look like?

Cox: I will probably go to all the FBU camps and stuff. Starting late January I’ll be working out with my recievers and running backs.”

Stay thirsty my friends…
