So the two teams I picked to be in the Super Bowl both lost. The Bears because Jay Cutler decided his knee hurt and a trip to the biggest game of his life wasn’t worth playing on. And the Jets once again fall just short, just this year to a different team.

The thing I am happy about is when I said last year after the Jets lost in the same game that they would get back to the AFC Championship game next year, I was right.

And when I said in a couple of fantasy drafts that Da Bears would win the NFC North and make a good run, I was right again.

The trick is I never made a prediction to whom would win the Super Bowl until the playoffs started. So stick that in your pocket and sit on it for next time you want to make a prediction.

With the season all but over I am looking forward to the draft.

Both the Mid-Valley Draft and the NFL Draft.

Luckily for me I will get to play GM for the day for the Tennessee Titans. Also lucky for the Titans I wont be doing it for them come draft day.

Titans need a quarterback, and luckily for me there are tons in the Mid-Valley and Southeast divisions. But I have Villa the Devil and others who also need a QB picking in front of me.

The Titans also need some receivers on offense so Chris Johnson doesn’t have to go against 8 in the box again all year. Even though he still had 1,364 yards and 11-TD’s on the ground, I want him back at the 2,000-yard mark.

On the defensive side I like the thought of getting and locking up a solid linebacker. I wont divulge any thoughts because I know they’ll be stolen.

I like the Titans chances next year.

I also like the Steelers to beat the Packers. In a close game, but the AFC just hits harder than the NFC and the Steelers showed they could defend the pass a few years ago beating Kurt Warner and his immaculate receiving corps in Arizona.

With all of these highlight videos coming out for local players Saile and I have been thinking. What if we did a local combine for local players here in the valley who want to continue playing. Invite local junior college coaches, schools like Occidental and APU to come. Try and get some bigger schools to come. Maybe we could co-host it with Zeke Prado’s Legends of Character and get the Wesleyan schools to come.

I like it, the MidValleySports.com/Legends of Character Combine. We talked about it Tuesday on the live show’s newest segment featuring the better looking faces of Mid Valley Sports, Saile and I. Let’s further the talk before time runs out on this season’s senior class.

Heroes get remembered, but legends never die. Remember that kid.
