Will West Covina's Chris Solomon be the first running back taken?
Draft Day: Tuesday, February 8 2011
The Mid Valley Draft is an exercise where staff/readers adopt NFL teams and then proceed to meet their personnel needs by drafting local players out of the Mid-Valley and Southeast divisions. This is our second annual draft.
Over the next week we will analyze positions to see who best fits where, who has first round potential and who may have value in the later rounds.
At the bottom of this page is a listing of those who have already adopted a team. If you would like to pick one of the remaining NFL teams and be part of this process add it to the comment box below. Be sure to have correct/legit contact information because you will be sending us your picks on the night of the draft.
We’ll start with the guys who carry the rock. We broke it down to who we feel are definite first round picks, second rounders and other considerations that would be a good pick up in the later rounds. Remember underclassmen are eligible but be prepared to take some heat if you take an unproven sophomore over an established senior. Our first round considerations might not match yours. Also there might not be a running back listed here that you like. That’s great. Keep in mind some of these players can fill the role of a fullback as well. Do your homework and have fun. Happy drafting!
The Running Backs
Look at your team’s needs. Do you pound the ball or throw it around? Do you already have a solid back? Who you pick and where you pick at the running back position depends on how your current roster looks. Remember because the shelf life of a running back is so short, almost everybody is in the market.
