Mike Hobbie to be named San Marino HC

(San Marino) – Mike Hobbie, who coached at Roosevelt High School in Fresno last year, will be named the Head Coach at San Marino possibly as early as Friday sources at San Marino High School said Wednesday.

Hobbie spent four years at Roosevelt compiling a record of 26-19. Hobbie took over a Roosevelt program that was winless in 2006 and 4-68 since 2000.

In his first year, Hobbie guided the Rough Riders to a playoff berth in 2007 while finishing 5-6 overall. Hobbie came to Roosevelt after coaching at the University of South Florida for five years, where he was the offensive coordinator, brings over 30 years of coaching experience to San Marino.

Hobbie will be the Titans third head coach in three seasons. D.R. Moreland resigned after the 2009 season and was replaced by Mike Mooney who stepped down in the middle of last year. San Marino won its first two games last year before losing seven of its next eight and finishing 3-7 overall.

Hobbie is expected to be in town Friday to make it official.
