San Marino's Alana Hillman has her sight set on goal.

(San Marino) – An unlucky break for San Marino late in the game and a questionable call in extra time derailed its playoff hopes as Ocean View got the best of the Titans in penalty kicks to advance to the semifinals.

Mikhaila Bowden’s moon-ball shot from thirty-yards out beat Titan goalkeeper Carlee Beckler to tie the game in the 69^th minute for the Seahawks.

Ocean View survived a goal that in overtime as the referee disallowed the goal for a handball by Savannah Desousa. The ball appeared to go off Desousa’s chest and knee instead of her hand but with no replay, the play stood.

It was one of many chances that San Marino saw go awry in overtime. Annie Wenzlau cracked a shot from 20-yards out that hit the crossbar in the 73^rd minute.

Alana Hillman had a great opportunity from inside 10-yards that Ocean View goalie Mallory Koci dove to save in the 78^th minute.

The Titans struck first in the 35^th minute on a beautifully played ball by Lindsay Miller which found Hope Welder’s foot. Welder slotted it passed Koci to give San Marino a 1-0 lead.

In a nine minute span, the Titans missed three golden opportunities to extend its lead. Wenzlau took a shot from 25-yards that Koci dove to block the shot. The rebound came to Alex Schuster who fired it over the net.

Schuster had another shot at goal in the 60^th minute only to have Koci make another brilliant diving stop.

That would signal the turning point for the Seahawks which pressured San Marino’s defense with Maddie Koci having the best shot at goal with a header that Beckler saved prior to Bowden’s goal.

Penalty kick conversions by Raquel Thomas, Aleanna Vargas, Bowden and the game-winner by Niki Geiger gave Ocean View enough to win. Bowden’s shot was partially blocked by Beckler but the ball fluttered into the net.

San Marino only converted with Wenzlau and Welder’s shots as Koci made to diving saves on the final two shots.
