Bonita’s magical post-season run continued with a 2nd round win in the CIF Division III playoffs against Bell-Jeff, 67-62.
Although the game appears to be one-sided, the Bearcats needed to come from a one-point deficit in the second half.
Led by Roshanda Napier’s 23 points, the Guards outscored Bonita 19-14 in the third quarter to take a 43-42 lead.
The Bearcats deficit was short-lived with Bonita going on a 25-9 run to close the game out.
Madison Zylstra finished with a team-high 22 points, but Briana Kennedy’s 16 points from inside the paint helped the Bearcats out along with Nikki Wheatley scoring 19.
The next game for Bonita will be on Saturday either at Serra or hosting Chaminade.
