In the Circle: March 28

Los Altos looks to knock off Bonita and West Covina this week.

Rain, rain, go away. Come again another day.

Rain has made a mess of the schedule.

Some teams did play during when the rain didn’t persist during last week.

LADY CATS ARE ROLLING

Monrovia is in the midst of a 4-game winning streak that started by defeating La Salle in the Charter Oak tournament.

Not lost in the streak is the play of Schae Simpson which is batting .467 with 10 RBI’s. Simpson has been the catalyst in the Lady Cats streak.

Also, don’t overlook Elise McCarthy who is getting better at the plate going 6-of-11 in the last three games. What makes this better for Monrovia fans is McCarthy is only a freshman.

CATCHING UP WITH THE BACK-TO-BACK CHAMPS

After a rough start Whittier Christian is back on the right track winning six of seven to help gain momentum into the Olympic League.

Junior Mandie Perez is a huge reason why the Heralds are on a hot streak. Perez is hitting .548 with six doubles and seven stolen bases.

Bekah Kikuchi has done a good job in the circle going 7-3 in 10 starts. Kikuchi also has two shutouts.

PACIFIC LEAGUE DOMINANCE

Forty-five runs in two games to start the Pacific League will be a daunting statistic that will help Crescenta Valley when it faces Burroughs on Friday.

The Falcons put up 33-runs against Muir. Senior Erin Ashby led the team with seven RBI’s in the win. Ashby is batting .611 with six homers and 20 RBI’s to start the season.

Ashby also has a 5-1 record to help Crescenta Valley start the season 8-1.
